Our Purpose:
Lakescape LLC was formed in 2013 in response to the increase in invasive aquatic species in Minnesota lakes and waterways. The impact of these fast-growing nuisances inspired our venture to effectively control unwanted lake weeds and create an enjoyable environment craved by waterfront property homeowners.
Who we are:
Nick Baumgard started Lakescape in 2013, which at the time provided aquatic invasive species removal services primarily on Lake Minnetonka. While growing up on Lake Minnetonka he came to realize that lake weeds were a nuisance and created numerous challenges for his family, friends, and neighbors preventing them from fully enjoying their lake property.
Lakescape continues to be a locally owned and operated company with the ability and expertise to meet the complete lakefront needs of current and future commercial and residential clients.
Preserving the Good
We have partnered with The Mulch Store to recycle 100% of the lake weeds we remove. The types of materials used in compost have a huge impact on how long it takes to break down and how nutrient rich the end product will be. The lake weeds we provide have high levels of moisture as well as critically needed nitrogen. They are a great addition for making high quality compost.
Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers!™
Aquatic Invasive species (AIS) are a serious risk to lakes, rivers, streams, and other bodies of water. In many nutrient rich lakes, invasive vegetation can thrive and form dense patches and mats of weeds hazardous to water recreation. Worse than an inconvenience to recreation, invasive species also crowd native plants and cause devastating and lasting effects on the natural ecosystem. We have seen first-hand what these invasive species can do to bodies of water, and want to help you learn about this massive problem in Minnesota.
